Dhaka, July 26 -- At least four members of the United People's Democratic Front's (UPDF) armed wing have reportedly been killed in a shootout with Chattogram's Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS) forces in remote Naraichhari area in Dighinala upazila of of Khagrachhari district.
The gunfire exchange took place around 8:30 pm Friday at Jora Sindhu Karbaripara of Naraichhari, said Dighinala Police Station chief Md Jakaria on Saturday.
"An armed group of 35 to 40 men under the command of JSS leader Joydev Chakma encountered the UPDF (Prasit Bikash Khisa faction) in the area. Intense gunfire followed between the two sides," he said.
