Dhaka, Aug. 23 -- Four more people have died from dengue, all of whom are children and youths, over the past 24 hours, raising the total fatalities this year to 114, while hospital admissions exceeded 28,000 this year.

All four of the dead were from Dhaka South City, according to Saturday's bulletin by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among them, two girls, aged 4 and 7, died at Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, a 26-year-old woman at Mugda Medical College Hospital, and a 15-year-old boy at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Over the last 24 hours, 247 new patients were admitted, bringing the total number of hospitalisations to 28,202 for the year, as per a bdnews24.com report.
