Dhaka, April 16 -- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman on Thursday told Parliament that the government has taken effective steps to withdraw politically motivated harassment cases filed during the tenure of the previous Awami League regime.

Replying to a scripted question from treasury bench member Md Monowar Hosen (Magura-1), the minister said the government remains fully aware of the issue and has already initiated measures in this regard.

"The current government is fully aware of the withdrawal of politically motivated harassment cases filed during the previous Awami League regime and has already taken effective steps in this regard," he told the House.
