Economy needs time to stabilise before growth push, says Amir Khosru
Dhaka, May 28 -- Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said Bangladesh needs time to stabilise its economy before moving towards stronger growth, calling on the public to remain patient during the recovery process.
On Thursday, after offering prayers at a mosque next to his residence in Chattogram, he said prices have remained stable during this Eid period, with some items even becoming cheaper.
"As far as I know, prices did not rise this Eid-ul-Azha, rather they have slightly decreased."
"Normally, prices rise during [Eid-ul-Azha], but this time they have eased. We want to maintain this trend so that essentials remain within people's reach," he added.
