Dhaka, May 25 -- The Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) Secretariat has issued a comprehensive circular defining the roles and responsibilities of its field-level officers to strengthen election management and voter services across the country.

Issued on Sunday, the directive specifies duties for additional regional election officers, additional district election officers, election officers, and assistant upazila/thana election officers.

According to the circular, additional regional election officers (administration and election wings) will oversee upazila offices, conduct inspections, handle investigations, budget matters, voter list preparation and updating, and serve as returning officers or appellate authorities as assigned.
