Bangladesh, Oct. 5 -- M. Ghaziul Haque, founding director and former chairman of Eastern Bank PLC (EBL), died at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Monday. He was 92.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sultana Haque; son Anis Ahmed, incumbent chairman of EBL; daughter Anila Haque; and a host of relatives, friends, admirers and well-wishers.

His namaz-e-janaza was held after Maghrib prayers today at Azad Masjid in Gulshan, Dhaka, following which he was laid to rest at Banani Graveyard.

Ghaziul Haque was chairman of MGH Group, a Singapore-headquartered multinational conglomerate with operations in more than 23 countries.
