Bangladesh, Sept. 2 -- Dhaka University (DU) has extended the gate closing time of female residential halls by one hour. The decision was taken at a meeting of the university's Syndicate, the highest policy-making body of the university, on Monday.

Advertisement According to the Syndicate decision, the gates of DU's female residential halls will now close at 11:00pm instead of 10:00pm.

Meanwhile, the university administration has temporarily suspended three professors over allegations of opposing the July Mass Uprising.

The suspended teachers are Professor Dr M Wahiduzzaman and Professor Dr Muhammad Mahbubur Rahman of the Institute of Education and Research (IER), and Professor Dr Mashiur Rahman of the Department of Sociology.
