Bangladesh, Sept. 22 -- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has set a target of bringing at least 10 blue-chip companies to the capital market by 2027 to address the prolonged market slump and shortage of quality securities.

Advertisement The target includes state-owned enterprises, multinational corporations and large local companies, according to DSE Chairman Mominul Islam.

At a press briefing, DSE chairman said the capital market had not seen any major quality initial public offering (IPO) or new listing for more than two years.

To address the shortage of new securities, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has prepared draft regulations to simplify and expedite both the IPO and direct-listing processes.
