Dhaka, March 31 -- The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,422 cases against traffic law violators during drives conducted across different areas of the capital.

According to a DMP press release, the drive was carried out on Monday in various parts of Dhaka to ensure road discipline and curb violations, BSS reports.

Among the divisions, Traffic-Gulshan recorded the highest number of cases at 464, including 32 buses, 7 trucks, 22 covered vans, 39 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 211 motorcycles. Traffic-Mirpur followed with 242 cases, including 21 buses, 4 trucks, 9 covered vans, 32 CNGs and 118 motorcycles. Traffic-Uttara filed 222 cases, while Traffic-Lalbagh recorded 155 cases.
