Dhaka, April 22 -- Biman flights on the Dhaka-Tokyo route will resume from June in a bid to strengthen air connectivity between Bangladesh and Japan, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat said on Wednesday.

Responding to questions from journalists after a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat, the state minister said a final decision to relaunch flights on the Dhaka-Tokyo route was taken following discussions with the prime minister.

The Narita-Dhaka route, which had previously been in operation, was shut down during the interim government period despite being considered a profitable route, he said.
