Bangladesh, Nov. 5 -- BIMSTEC decides to establish a Working Group on Space Cooperation to develop an Action Plan for cooperation in space applications and technologies.

Advertisement Highlighting the move, BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandey stressed the importance of regional multilateralism and regional cooperation in addressing shared developmental and security challenges and underscored the role of space-based technologies in strengthening disaster preparedness, enhancing early warning systems and promoting sustainable development.

Mr Pandey was addressing the 5th Ministerial Conference on Space Applications for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific held in Bangkok last week, said a spokesman of the grouping.
