Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- Bangladesh has called for the withdrawal of the High-Risk Cargo and Mail (HRCM) status imposed on its aviation exports in 2017, citing recent security upgrades and satisfactory safety audits.

Advertisement Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat made the call during a meeting with British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke at the Secretariat on Tuesday, according to a statement.

The minister noted that the HRCM status, imposed by the European Union in 2017, has significantly increased cargo handling times and operational costs.
