BAJUS slashes gold prices again
Dhaka, July 9 -- The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has once again revised down the price of gold in the local market, cutting the rate of 22-carat gold by Tk 3,324 per bhori to Tk 2,21,966.
Bajus announced the new price in a notice on Thursday which came into effect from 10 am, UNB reports.
The trade body said the decision was taken in view of the fall in prices of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market, prompting the revision of VAT-inclusive gold prices to reflect the overall situation.
According to the new price chart, each bhori (11.664 grams) of 21-carat gold will now cost Tk 2,11,993, 18-carat gold Tk 1,82,075, and traditional gold Tk 1,48,774, all inclusive of VAT.
