Dhaka, Oct. 30 -- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has revoked the Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) licences of two brokerage firms - Al Haramain Securities and Mahid Securities - due to violations of rules.

The prime bourse on Wednesday announced the regulatory decision on its website. Al Haramain Securities and Mahid Securities received their TREC licences in 2021.

The DSE cancelled Al Haramain Securities' (TREC No. 263) licence due to the firm's failure to maintain the required capital.

According to the law, a brokerage firm must have a minimum of Tk 50 million as paid-up capital to secure a TREC licence, and the firm is never allowed to have equity capital less than 75 per cent of the initial paid-up capital.
