Bangladesh, Aug. 13 -- A bank official and another man have been handed over to police after more than Tk 43.8 million was allegedly embezzled from Agrani Bank's Laldighi East Corporate Branch in Chattogram by replacing Tk 1,000 notes in bundles with smaller denominations.

The suspects are Kamrul Islam, 41, a senior officer and cash-in-charge of the branch, and Jafar Ullah Tanvir, 25, reports bdnews24.com.

Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Iqbal Hossain told bdnews24.com that a case was filed on Monday over the alleged embezzlement of Tk 43.8 million from the bank vault.
