Dhaka, Oct. 20 -- As many as 1,219 candidates have passed the 49th Special BCS written examination for the recruitment of 683 teachers in government colleges.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman said about the results published on Sunday night, reports bdnews24.com.

The PSC said the viva exams for successful candidates will begin on Oct 26, while the written exam was held across 184 centres in Dhaka on Oct 10.

A total of 176,670 candidates, or 56.49 per cent of all applicants, participated in the 49th Special BCS written examination.

The PSC had published the notification on Jul 21 to recruit 653 teachers for government general colleges and 30 teachers for government teacher training colleges.
