Dhaka, June 1 -- A deadly wave of road crashes swept across the country during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, killing at least 38 people and leaving dozens injured as families rushed home to celebrate the festival with their loved ones, report agencies.

5 killed in bus-motorcycle collision

Five people, including a child, were killed and 20 others wounded in a bus-motorbike collision on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Bedgram area under Sadar upazila of Gopalganj district on the day of Eid-ul-Azha (May 28).

According to eyewitnesses, a Pirojpur-bound passenger bus of Dola Paribahan collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at Bedgram area.
