Dhaka, March 9 -- Around 37567 beneficiaries have been qualified to receive family cards tomorrow (Tuesday).

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will formally inaugurate the distribution of the family card on March 10 under a pilot initiative.

On the same day, beneficiaries will receive Tk 2,500 in cash assistance for the first month in their mobile wallets or bank accounts.

The Ministry of Social Welfare selected the beneficiaries from 14 upazilas out of a total of 77,000 surveyed.

Secretary to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Dr Abu Yusuf, said they have sorted the beneficiaries by scrutinising whether they are already covered by any social safety net programme.
