NEW YORK, June 8 -- The words came out evenly, without the strained bravado of a player trying to talk himself into something. Victor Wembanyama sat before reporters Sunday afternoon and, asked how a 22-year-old handles the weight of elimination odds stacking against him, simply said he welcomed it.

"I think at the end of the day, this is everything that I wish for," Wembanyama told the media ahead of Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals. "This is what I'm built for."
