What Senate Republicans want to know now is not what Jack Smith concluded, but what Verizon handed over without telling anyone.

Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa and 15 Republican colleagues set an August 13 deadline for Verizon last week, demanding the company explain a May 2023 subpoena that compelled it to provide phone metadata for a dozen sitting senators without disclosing the subpoena to any of them.
