New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- NEW YORK - Cowbells and handcuffs filled Midtown Manhattan on Thursday as roughly 100 people were arrested during protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel's appearance at the United Nations General Assembly, according to the New York Police Department.

"We're here not just to oppose Netanyahu but to say stop arming Israel and the genocide," Stefanie Fox, executive director of Jewish Voice for Peace, said in an interview. "We demand an end to the impunity and complicity right here."

The arrests came as Netanyahu, the subject of an outstanding International Criminal Court arrest warrant issued in 2024 over accusations of war crimes in Gaza, addressed the assembly a short walk away. A United Natio...
