New Delhi, Oct. 22 -- Skullcandy will keep its name and Utah base after Bose acquired the audio company, expanding its reach without combining the two brands. The purchase gives Bose a business rooted in boardsports, music and youth culture alongside its own consumer-audio products.

Bose said in its October 21 announcement that it bought Skullcandy from a fund managed by Mill Road Capital Management. Financial terms remain confidential. Skullcandy will operate as a separate brand within Bose's Premium Consumer Audio business and remain based in Park City, Utah.

Bose will leverage Skullcandy's designs and branding to help the company reach new demographics. https://t.co/UB8M8aT747
