Tanzania sends police officers abroad for cybercrime training
Tanzania, May 25 -- Dodoma. Tanzania has intensified efforts to strengthen its capacity to combat cybercrime by sending police officers to specialised training programmes in countries including Russia, Brazil, Turkey, India, South Korea and Egypt.
The Minister for Home Affairs, Petrobas Katambi, said the move is part of the government's broader strategy to equip law enforcement agencies with modern skills to tackle emerging security threats, particularly cybercrime.
Mr Katambi made the remarks in Parliament on Monday, May 25, while moving the ministry's budget estimates for the 2026/27 financial year.
