Tanzania, April 1 -- Dar es Salaam.  Motorists and other fuel consumers in Tanzania will pay around Sh1,000 more for a litre of petrol after the energy regulator revised cap prices for April 2026 in response to rising global prices precipitated by the US-Israeli war on Iran.

The sharp increase underscores how global geopolitical shocks are quickly feeding into domestic energy costs, placing fresh pressure on households and businesses already grappling with a high cost of living.
