Tanzania, July 24 -- Dar es Salaam. Tanzania's amateur boxing team will launch the country's quest for medals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games today when three boxers step into the ring at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow.

The official draw has handed Tanzania challenging opening bouts against opponents from Nigeria, Zambia and Lesotho as the boxing competition gets underway.

The tournament runs from today to August 1 and features 201 boxers, comprising 131 men and 70 women, representing 43 Commonwealth nations across 14 weight categories.

Leading Tanzania's campaign in the men's light heavyweight (80kg) division is Yusuf Changalawe, who will face Nigeria's Ankintola David in the round of 32.
