Tanzania, April 1 -- Dar es Salaam. The race for leadership in the Tanzania Olympic Committee (TOC) has gained momentum after 24 candidates were cleared to proceed in the preliminary screening for the upcoming General Election scheduled for April 12 in Dar es Salaam.

Among the key contenders for the presidency are Henry Benny Tandau and Leonard Thadeo Katunzi, who have both been approved to contest for the top position following the vetting process. In Zanzibar, Hassan Khairalla Tawakal has also been cleared to vie for the presidency.

For the position of Vice President, Nasra Juma Mohamed stands as the sole approved candidate, moving forward unopposed after meeting all the required qualifications set by the election committee.
