Tanzania, July 4 -- Arusha. Edes Mlingi has lost his appeal against the Sh196.95 million compensation paid after his land was acquired for the Dar Rapid Transit Agency (DART) project, with the Court of Appeal ruling that he had been fully compensated for the entire property and all developments, leaving him with no legal basis to pursue further ownership claims.

Mr Mlingi filed Civil Appeal No. 797 of 2023 against the Attorney General, the Commissioner for Lands, the Registrar of Titles, DART, the Ubungo Municipal Council and Puma Energy Company, challenging a High Court decision delivered on August 30, 2023, at the Dar es Salaam Sub-Registry.
