Funding gap casts shadow over EAC agricultural ambitions
Tanzania, Aug. 5 -- Dar es Salaam. Financing shortfalls, weak budget execution and heavy reliance on donor support remain key obstacles to East Africa's agricultural transformation, experts said while reviewing the region's progress towards implementing the Kampala CAADP Declaration.
Speakers at a regional webinar bringing together officials from the East African Community (EAC), the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), civil society organisations and agricultural experts, said the region's biggest challenge is no longer securing political commitment but translating pledges into funded action.
