Bangladesh, June 1 -- Sri Lanka has recorded over one million tourist arrivals since the beginning of 2026, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

The SLTDA said a total of 1,010,807 tourists visited the country between January 1 and May 28. The authority also noted that 134,530 tourists arrived during May so far.

India led the May arrivals with 56,063 visitors. The United Kingdom ranked second with 8,582 arrivals, followed by China with 8,439.

According to cumulative figures for the year, India remains the top source market with 245,981 tourists, followed by the United Kingdom with 97,427 and Russia with 75,963.
