Dhaka, May 5 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced plans to overhaul transport links between Dhaka and Sylhet, aiming to cut travel time and improve passenger comfort through upgrades to both road and rail networks.

Speaking at an event hosted by Sylhet City Corporation, the Prime Minister highlighted the current challenges, noting that poor road conditions can stretch the Dhaka-Sylhet journey to nearly 10 hours. He said, work on stalled highway upgrades is expected to begin soon after resolving administrative and land-related issues.
