Bangladesh, June 10 -- India has announced plans to establish 11 new land ports along its international borders over the next two to three years, expanding its cross-border trade infrastructure and digital management systems.

The announcement was made on June 9 by Home Minister Amit Shah during the launch of the Land Ports Authority Management System (LPMS), a centralized digital platform designed to streamline operations across India's land ports.

Currently, India operates 15 functional land ports. With the new additions, the country aims to significantly expand capacity for cargo movement, passenger processing, and cross-border vehicle management.
