Dhaka, Aug. 26 -- A Delta Air Lines flight from Orlando landed safely in Austin after a portion of its wing partially detached midair.
Flight 1893, a Boeing 737, was descending toward Austin-Bergstrom International Airport when passengers noticed a section of the left wing appeared to come loose, according to sources.
Passenger Shanila Arif recorded video footage from her window seat showing the flap swaying as the plane flew thousands of feet above the ground.
"During the flight, while the plane was at an altitude of approximately 12,000 feet, we noticed that a part of the wing had broken and was visibly detached," she told KXAN. "This is a serious safety event."
