Bangladesh, July 26 -- A Chinese delegation has visited the proposed Khan Jahan Ali Airport site in Bangladesh's Bagerhat district, signaling fresh interest in developing the long-delayed aviation project.

The delegation inspected the proposed site at Rampal on July 25 as part of a feasibility assessment, accompanied by officials from several government agencies. Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Sheikh Faridul Islam was also present during the visit.

The airport project was first proposed nearly three decades ago, when the foundation stone was laid during the administration of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
