Biman's stranded Rome flight reaches Dhaka
Bangladesh, Aug. 9 -- Biman Bangladesh Airlines' Toronto-Rome-Dhaka flight returned to Dhaka on August 9 after being stranded in Rome for nearly 40 hours due to a technical fault.
Flight BG-306 landed safely at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 12:30 pm, Biman Public Relations Officer Bosra Islam said.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner departed Rome's Fiumicino Airport at 11:00 pm local time on August 8 (3:00 am BST on August 9) after the aircraft was repaired and cleared following the necessary technical and safety checks, Biman officials said.
The aircraft had been grounded at Fiumicino after developing a technical problem, disrupting the scheduled service and leaving passengers stranded in the Italian capital.
