Bangladesh, July 29 -- Air China will launch direct flights between China and Iceland, starting October 26, establishing the first air link between the two countries.

The route will operate as a fifth-freedom flight, tagged on to the airline's existing Beijing-Copenhagen service, continuing onward from Copenhagen to Keflavik.

Air China will operate three weekly flights on the route, deploying its Airbus A330-300 fleet. Tickets are already available for purchase through the carrier's official website.

The new service was announced by the Chinese Embassy in Iceland and is being positioned as a significant addition to air connectivity between Asia and Europe.
