India, Oct. 14 -- Dramatic scenes unfolded as an excavator brought down part of the residence of Ashwani Kumar, the chemist shop owner accused of killing Jhota. At the same time, a large crowd gathered near the medical store, where people armed with sticks and stones smashed the structure amid heavy police deployment. The mob raised slogans against the accused as the shop was reduced to rubble and subsequently set ablaze. Several onlookers filmed the incident on their mobile phones.

Tension prevailed in the area as police personnel attempted to maintain law and order. Some Nihangs were also reportedly involved in a minor altercation with the police. Sources said a nearby shop had reportedly been vacated ahead of the demolition.
