India, Aug. 3 -- The results of the assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have been declared, with the Congress retaining the Datia seat and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registering a comfortable victory in Manjalpur.

In Datia, Congress candidate Ghanshyam Singh defeated BJP's Ashutosh Tiwari by 6,016 votes, allowing the party to retain the constituency. The result is being seen as a morale booster for the Congress in the state.

Meanwhile, in Manjalpur (Vadodara district, Gujarat), BJP candidate Satish Patel won by a margin of over 30,000 votes, defeating Congress nominee Bhikhabhai Rabari. The emphatic victory helped the BJP retain the seat and reinforced its strong electoral presence in Gujarat.
