New Delhi, Feb. 27 -- Intelligent enterprise solutions firm Vertex Group has announced the launch of its 'Responsible AI Lab' in Gurugram, committing Rs 100 crore to research and development over the next three years as it sharpens its focus on ethical and scalable AI-led growth.
The new Lab is positioned as the innovation nerve centre of Vertex's 'Vertex 2.0' strategy, a roadmap aimed at accelerating global expansion and helping the company move closer to its stated ambition of becoming a Rs 1,000 crore digital enterprise. The company said the investment will be channelled into advanced AI research, product engineering, governance frameworks, and ecosystem partnerships.
According to the company, the Responsible AI Lab will set new benchmarks for trust, accountability and inclusivity in enterprise technology at a time when AI is becoming deeply embedded in core business operations. With enterprises facing heightened regulatory scrutiny and stakeholder expectations around data privacy, bias mitigation and explainability, the Lab will focus on embedding responsibility at the design stage of AI systems.
Vertex said the facility will build on its existing AI capabilities, including the deployment of its in-house platform, VAssist. The Lab's research agenda includes multi-agent AI architectures, context-aware decision-making systems, AI governance frameworks, and domain-specific large language model applications tailored for regulated industries. It will also work on building robust audit trails, model explainability layers, and privacy-preserving data architectures to help clients meet compliance requirements across jurisdictions.
The company added that the Lab will support enterprise automation across sectors such as fintech, agritech and healthtech, where AI is increasingly being integrated directly into service delivery. By combining automation with human oversight models, Vertex aims to ensure operational efficiency without compromising accountability or customer trust.
The Responsible AI Lab also aligns with Vertex Group's previously announced plan to upskill more than 8,000 AI professionals in India by 2028. The company said this talent development push will create a steady pipeline of engineers, data scientists and AI ethicists to accelerate responsible AI deployment at scale, reinforcing India's position as a key hub in its global delivery model.
Gagan Arora, Founder and President of Vertex Group, said the company views AI as an enabler rather than a replacement for human ingenuity. "With the Responsible AI Lab at the heart of Vertex 2.0, we are doubling down on our mission to ensure technology uplifts people and enterprises alike. This investment reflects our belief that AI must be developed and deployed with the highest standards of ethics, transparency and accountability. We are committed to building solutions that empower businesses, safeguard data and drive sustainable growth worldwide," he said.
Earlier this month, Vertex Group appointed Subba Rao as Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer (CGO). He will lead the company's Vertex 2.0 initiative and spearhead global market expansion. Rao brings over 25 years of experience across growth strategy and operational transformation, having held leadership roles at Teleperformance, WNS Global Services, Capita, Wipro, HSBC and Asian Paints.
The move comes amid a broader shift in the enterprise technology landscape, where responsible AI frameworks are fast becoming a boardroom priority. With dedicated infrastructure, structured investment and a defined governance charter, Vertex Group is seeking to position itself at the intersection of AI innovation and ethical enterprise transformation
