New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT services provider, has enabled ICICI Lombard General Insurance to implement a fully automated disaster recovery (DR) system across multiple Amazon Web Services (AWS) regions. The new setup allows the insurer to switch operations automatically during disruptions with reduced downtime and no manual intervention.
The solution is built on AWS cloud-native technologies, using an automation-first and infrastructure-as-code approach. It enables geographical redundancy and maintains continuity of critical systems through automated failover. The framework is designed to scale with the company's operations and regulatory requirements.
The disaster recovery architecture is based on a data-driven, serverless orchestration model that supports large-scale operations. The approach is intended to meet the demands of high availability while aligning with industry best practices for resilience.
Girish Nayak, Chief - Technology and Health (Underwriting & Claims), ICICI Lombard, said, "This not only enhances our readiness for unexpected infrastructure disruptions but also reinforces our commitment to uninterrupted service to our customers."
Ujjwal Mathur, President & Country Head - India Business, TCS, said, "This intelligent, automation-led DR solution sets a new benchmark for Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) organisations by enabling seamless, fast and scalable disaster recovery with zero touch."
TCS has partnered with ICICI Lombard since 2006, managing datacenter operations before leading the shift to public cloud in 2021. The firm is also modernising the insurer's systems under Project Orion, which involves deploying its BaNCS Insurance platform for policy administration, claims management, accounting, and reinsurance.
