New Delhi, Oct. 10 -- Oracle NetSuite is doubling down on India as it eyes the next wave of cloud ERP adoption in one of the world's fastest-growing digital economies. With local businesses rapidly shifting from on-premise systems to cloud platforms, the company is expanding its infrastructure, product localisation, and partner ecosystem to capture this momentum.
"The Indian ERP market has traditionally been dominated by on-premise systems due to concerns about financial data security and trust," said Amit Suxena, Head of Asia at Oracle NetSuite, speaking to TechCircle on the sidelines of the company's annual event, SuiteWorld 2025 in Las Vegas held from 6-9 October. "For many small, family-owned businesses, there's also been scepticism toward ERP adoption because so much work was done manually. That's changing fast as business owners recognise the transparency, scalability, and resilience that cloud-native ERP brings."
To meet this growing demand, NetSuite earlier this year announced plans to open two new data centres in India - within the Oracle Cloud Mumbai Region and Oracle Cloud Hyderabad Region. This marks the first time the company will operate its ERP services on data centres located inside the country.
"The local data centres are a significant step toward helping Indian customers meet data residency and compliance requirements," said Suxena. Hosting NetSuite in these regions allows companies to minimise cross-border data transfers while benefiting from embedded AI capabilities and built-in disaster recovery.
"By operating locally, we're helping customers align with India's data storage norms while offering higher resilience and faster performance," Suxena explained. With these additions, NetSuite is now live across 16 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) regions worldwide, spanning North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
Suxena noted that NetSuite has tailored its offerings to suit India's complex business and tax environment, including modules for GST compliance, e-invoicing, and statutory reporting. The company's growing Solution Development Network (SDN) of partners enables deeper, industry-specific integrations - from tourism firms in Rajasthan to gold and diamond exporters in Kerala and Gujarat, and more.
"India's diversity makes localisation critical," he said. "Our partners ensure NetSuite can serve businesses across sectors and regions with agility."
AI and analytics are increasingly central to NetSuite's product roadmap. "We're embedding AI to make ERP more predictive and less transactional," Suxena added. "It's about empowering CFOs and founders with insights before they even ask for them."
NetSuite is also expanding beyond metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad to reach Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where manufacturers, retailers, and healthcare firms are accelerating their digital transformation journeys.
With India's SaaS and startup ecosystems thriving, NetSuite has seen rising adoption among fast-scaling firms such as Freshworks, Chai Point, and Wellness Forever, among others. "SMEs are our growth engine," Suxena said. "They're agile, ambitious, and many are even ready for global expansion - and we want to be their cloud backbone."
Over the next 12-18 months, NetSuite plans to accelerate its India expansion through deeper partnerships, new product capabilities, and a sharper focus on local innovation. "India is not just a key market - it's becoming a hub for how we imagine the future of cloud ERP," Suxena added.
