New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Jetley will take charge on October 28, succeeding Srikrishna Ramakarthikeyan, who is stepping down after 12 years as Hexaware's CEO
IT services firm Hexaware Technologies on Thursday appointed Vivek Jetley, a senior executive at data and analytics firm EXL, as its next chief executive officer, in a leadership transition that comes as the company navigates a more challenging growth environment and the disruption of traditional IT services by artificial intelligence.
Jetley will take charge on October 28, succeeding Srikrishna Ramakarthikeyan, who will step down as CEO and from Hexaware's board after 12 years at the helm. Ramakarthikeyan will remain with the company as senior advisor to support the transition.
The appointment comes at a critical juncture for Hexaware. The company has been repositioning its business around AI-led services even as slower technology spending and the rapid adoption of AI are forcing IT services companies to rethink their traditional revenue and delivery models.
Jetley brings more than 25 years of experi, even as slower technology spending and the rapid adoption of AI forceence spanning data and AI, analytics, consulting and enterprise transformation. He currently serves as president at EXL, where he leads its insurance, healthcare and life sciences businesses. He previously headed EXL Analytics, overseeing its advanced analytics, AI services and enterprise data management businesses.
Jetley joined EXL in 2006 through its acquisition of Inductis, an analytics consulting firm where he was a partner. During his two decades at EXL, he has held leadership roles across corporate strategy, strategic partnerships and innovation, and has been involved in several acquisitions.
The choice of an executive with a strong analytics and AI background comes as Hexaware seeks to scale its AI-led services business and build new sources of growth. The company has increasingly positioned AI as central to its software engineering, application modernisation, data and enterprise transformation offerings.
"AI adoption fundamentally changes how services are delivered, how capabilities are built and how enterprises create value," Jetley said. He added that he saw an opportunity to build Hexaware into a leading AI-led services company and help clients navigate the shift.
Hexaware chairman Larry Quinlan thanked Ramakarthikeyyan for his contribution over the past 12 years and said Jetley's experience in scaling businesses and creating new growth engines would help take the company into its next phase.
The leadership change follows a period of recalibration for Hexaware. After its June-quarter results, the company lowered its calendar 2026 revenue-growth forecast to 6-7%, from an earlier expectation of at least 7.6%, highlighting the pressure facing the company even as demand for AI-related services grows.
At the same time, Hexaware has accelerated its AI push. In August alone, the company announced initiatives around agentic AI, enterprise AI programmes, AI-led security and its broader "Zero Friction Enterprise" strategy. Its latest positioning centres on using agentic AI across application modernisation, data, IT operations and software engineering, indicating that Jetley's mandate will extend beyond simply improving growth to reshaping the company's services model.
