New Delhi, Dec. 15 -- Tech consultancy firm Cognizant has launched a Cyber Defense Center (CDC) in Bengaluru. This center woule be key to the company's worldwide CDC network and Cognizant's largest facility, delivering advanced AI-powered platform-centric cybersecurity managed services, engineering and transformation services to clients globally. At the Bengaluru CDC, Cognizant aim to provide round-the-clock monitoring and rapid response to security incidents, supporting clients across diverse industries and geographies. The centre features an integrated threat research lab, supported by strategic alliances with leading technology companies. "Cybersecurity is entering a new era where hyper-connected enterprises and AI-driven threats outpace traditional defenses," said Ravi Kumar S, CEO, Cognizant. "Our new Cyber Defense Center in Bengaluru reflects our commitment to delivering intelligence-led cybersecurity engineering and operation services that help enable clients to predict, prevent and mitigate advanced cybersecurity threats." The Bengaluru CDC is built on a multi-layered technology architecture that combines Cognizant's proprietary innovations, such as Cognizant Neuro Cybersecurity, with platforms from technology partners to deliver advanced cybersecurity capabilities. To support a steady pipeline of skilled talent, the center has partnered with leading academic institutions to train next-generation cybersecurity professionals. Last week, Cognizant set up a new Artificial Intelligence Lab and a Cognizant Moment Studio in Bengaluru to expand its work in enterprise technology. The move is part of the company's plan announced in 2023 to invest $1 billion in generative AI over three years. The two units will operate as a single hub focused on research, design, and development of AI systems for business use.
The AI Lab will work on applied research areas such as multi-agent models, decision automation and responsible AI. Researchers and engineers at the lab will build internal frameworks, reusable AI modules and platform components meant for enterprise applications. The work is expected to add to Cognizant's intellectual property and shape future tools used in large-scale environments. The Cognizant Moment Studio will operate with the AI Lab to link technical development with design workflows. Global head Benjamin Wiener said the studio's role is to study user interactions and apply those insights when building digital systems for enterprise clients.
