Srilanka, Oct. 19 -- The Police will consult the Attorney General's (AG) Department whether Senior Counsel Gunaratne Wanninayake can be charged with contempt of court for his alleged unruly behaviour and use of profanity within the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court premises. Police Spokesperson ASP F. U. Wootler s told the Sunday Observer that the Police will seek the AG Department's assistance to ascertain what possible legal avenues are in place for this.

"We are currently drafting the B report for the offences Wanninayake has been charged with. When the B report is submitted to the Magistrate, we shall seek the AG Department's assistance in charging him with contempt of court," said ASP Wootler.
