Srilanka, Oct. 5 -- Recent road accidents have claimed many lives of men, women and children. Four people were killed and 25 others were injured in a bus collision at Thorayaya in Kurunegala on February 10. Twenty-seven people including ten children were injured in a bus accident in Mahiyanganaya on April 25.

Twenty-one people were killed and 30 others injured in a bus accident in Kothmale on May 11. One person was killed and 57 others were injured in a bus accident in Pottuvil on August 30. It appears that an accident happens almost every day. There are many causes for such accidents and the Government is taking remedial measures.
