Srilanka, Aug. 31 -- The Lankans had a close call in the first ODI where they went through some anxious moments before snatching a thrilling seven-run victory at the same venue on Friday.

Zimbabwe almost overtook Sri Lanka's total of 298 for six after a valiant effort from Sikandar Raza and Tony Munyonga before a last-over hat-trick from the left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka sealed the deal for the visitors.

Captain Charith Asalanka commended Sri Lanka's bowling effort, especially the crucial last few overs when the home side was cruising along towards a famous victory.
