Sri Lanka, Dec. 14 -- Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has called upon the Government to appoint an independent, high-powered Parliamentary Committee to investigate the handling of Cyclone Ditwah, citing new claims from the Sri Lanka Association of Meteorologists. According to Ranawaka, the organisation's evidence indicates that credible early warnings for the cyclone were issued as early as November 23. "For transparency, accountability, and justice for every affected family, an impartial, high-powered Parliamentary Committee must be appointed without delay," he said, taking to social media platform X.
