Sri Lanka, Dec. 14 -- The Central Bank having considered the proposals of the Sri Lanka Banks' Association (Guarantee) Ltd. and the need to grant effective relief to those affected by the cyclone without unduly compromising financial system stability, issued Circular No. 4 of 2025 on December 5 to all licensed banks to provide the relief measures to the individuals and businesses whose income or business has been directly affected (hereinafter referred to as borrowers).
Licensed banks have been called upon to provide the following relief measures, upon receiving a request from such borrowers in writing or through electronic means, by January 15, 2026.
