Srilanka, Oct. 5 -- The fifth match of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup between Sri Lanka and Australia was abandoned due to bad weather at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday.

The cut-off time for the start of play was 8.00 p.m. but as the rain continued to pour in, the umpires decided to officially abandon the game.

The showers had delayed the toss and with no signs of a slowdown, the two captains Chamari Atapattu and Alyssa Healy shook hands with the game being abandoned.
