Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Many passengers turned to Sri Lanka Railways' new Pravesha online ticketing platform during two-day railway strike, with several sharing screenshots of e-tickets on social media while ticket counters remained closed.

The newly introduced service allows passengers to purchase tickets through www.pravesha.lk or the dedicated Pravesha mobile app. Tickets can be purchased by entering travel details and paying by credit or debit card, with e-tickets issued instantly via SMS or email.

The tickets can be validated at railway stations and onboard trains using the QR code displayed on the e-ticket.
