SriLanka, Aug. 2 -- A clash has been reported inside the Mahara Prison, prompting the deployment of several Police teams to bring the situation under control, according to Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F. U. Wootler.

The spokesperson said Police had responded immediately to the incident and that the Police Special Task Force (STF) had also been placed on standby and deployed in the vicinity of the prison to assist if required.
